Odisha records 49 heat-related illnesses
Bhubaneswar (21/04/2025): Odisha is experiencing severe heatwave conditions, resulting in a significant number of heat-related illnesses.
The state has recorded 49 hospitalizations due to heatstroke, with Sambalpur being the worst-affected district with 40 cases.
This was informed by Public Health Director Nilakantha Mishra on Monday. The temperatures in various parts of the state have been recorded as follows-Jharsuguda:44.8°C, Sambalpur: 42.6°C, Hirakud: 41.8°C, Rourkela: 41.2°C, Kendujhar: 37.8°C, Chandbali: 37.6°C, Balesore: 36.2°C and Bhubaneswar: 35.2°C.
These temperatures were registered by 2 PM.
