Annual Festival of Jagatsinghpur Heritage Walk Concludes; Heritage Walker Felicitated

Balasore, January 3 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The annual festival of the Jagatsinghpur Heritage Walk was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vibrancy at the Adikabi Sarala Das Sanskruti Bhavan in Jagatsinghpur.

The festival was organised following the successful completion of twelve heritage walks over the past year. The programme opened with an Odissi dance mangalacharan, Jagannathashtakam, presented by student Sekh Sahil Mohammad of Swami Vivekananda Memorial College. This was followed by a captivating Ghanta Patua dance dedicated to Maa Sarala, which mesmerised the audience.

The meeting, presided over by educationist Dr. Basanta Manjari Das, featured addresses by Dr. Deepak Samantaray, Ambika Pattnaik, Ranjan Kumar Panda, and Bhagaban Das, among others.
On the occasion, winners of the district-level painting and general knowledge competitions were awarded. Individuals and organisations were also felicitated for their contributions to soil and culture, including Basanti Apa (Sagarbala Pattnaik), Ghanta Patua dance artist Mihir Nana, Sham Chacha, Badabag Handloom Society, Sisir Kumar Panda, and Hemanta Kumar Rout.

A major attraction of the festival was the exhibition of handloom textiles and books. Officials associated with the Cuttack, Dhenkanal, and Puri Heritage Walks were also honoured. The programme concluded after lunch.
