First snowfall witnessed in Odisha

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty)  The first snowfall of the year has been witnessed in Sartaguda village of Phulbani in Kandhamal district.

The intense cold has affected the livelihood of local residents.
To protect themselves from the biting cold, people are relying on fire for warmth.

While the temperature in Daringbadi has been recorded at 7.0°C, Phulbani has recorded 5.2°C.
Similarly, Jharsuguda has recorded a temperature of 5.6°C.

Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 13.0 degree Celsius.

The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre of India Meteorological Department has predicted that severe cold conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the state till December 13.
