Bhubaneswar(06/04/2025): As part of her visit to Bhadrak district, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Odisha, visited the Aahar Kendra located in Bhadrak town.

The centre, managed by the Radha Krushna Self Help Group (SHG), has been playing a vital role in ensuring nutritious, affordable meals for the urban poor and working class. Padhee interacted with the SHG members and beneficiaries, and expressed her appreciation for the high standards of food quality and hygiene maintained at the facility.

She acknowledged the dedication of the women of Radha Krushna SHG, highlighting their contribution not just to food security, but to community well-being and women’s empowerment. “The dedication of these women in running the Aahar Kendra efficiently reflects the power of community-led initiatives in urban governance.

Their commitment is truly inspiring,” she remarked. Her visit reinforces the State Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthen livelihoods through SHGs and ensure dignified, nutritious meals under the Aahar programme.
