Balasore District Air Force Association Observes Air Force Day:Pledges Commitment to National Security and Welfare Activities

Balasore, Oct 6 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The Balasore District Air Force Association celebrated Air Force Day yesterday at Venya Paradise Kalyan Mandap.

The event was presided over by Air Veteran Sibdas Kundu, District President of the Association. The chief guest, Air Commodore (Retd.) Arabinda Mohanty, President of the Odisha State Branch of the Air Force Association, said that all retired Air Force personnel had devoted their service to the nation and were now actively contributing to social welfare. He noted that the Air Force functions as a close-knit family and expressed happiness over the active role of the Balasore Association, similar to that of the Cuttack branch.

State Secretary Squadron Leader (Retd.) Arabinda Panda urged more retired personnel to join the Association and participate regularly in meetings and programmes. He also advised that, as per directives from the Ministry of Defence, all retired personnel must hand over their service and pension documents to their spouses to ensure smooth access to pension and post-retirement benefits.

Mr. Panda appreciated the efforts of the Association’s Women’s Wing for celebrating Odia festivals and national Air Force Day each year. State Advisor Arun Rashmi Mohanty, District Secretary Air Veteran Maheswar Behera, and District Advisor Pradeep Kumar Mohanty also addressed the gathering, highlighting the Association’s key objectives and demands.

Presiding over the meeting, Air Veteran Sibdas Kundu drew attention to several discrepancies observed in the Sainik Board. Sujay Das conducted the proceedings, while Ashok Das proposed a vote of thanks at the end. In the afternoon, a cultural programme was presented by the women’s group under the leadership of Minati Sahoo.

On this occasion, a resolution was passed to felicitate Air Veteran and District Secretary Maheswar Behera at the national level, and he was warmly congratulated by the members.
