House of suspected Bangladeshi Nationals demolished in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur (By Abhishek Mohanty): The Jagatsinghpur district administration on Monday demolished a house allegedly occupied by suspected Bangladeshi nationals. The demolition was carried out at Beherampur Basti under Sadar police station limits, following intelligence inputs about illegal settlement and possible arms storage.

A bulldozer was deployed to bring down the 10-room structure in the presence of a magistrate and the sub-collector. According to officials, the house had been occupied illegally for the past four years.

A detailed investigation has been launched to determine how the individuals entered the area, who facilitated their stay, and what links they may have within or outside the district.

On Sunday night, police detained four suspects during a raid, while around 10 others reportedly escaped. The raid also led to the seizure of a country-made revolver, cutters, and several sharp weapons from the premises.
