Odisha suffered loss of Rs 600 crore due to cyclone Dana
Bhubaneswar (04/11/2024): Odisha suffered a loss of Rs 600 crore due to cyclonic storm 'Dana'.
This was informed by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday. The Minister said, "Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts were adversely affected by the cyclonic storm. The districts of Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack have also been affected.
As per preliminary assessment, the cyclonic storm affected 14 districts, with 131 blocks and 11,637 villages." Approximately 41 lakh people have been affected, with 16,417 houses damaged, including 27 houses that were completely destroyed and 14,680 houses partially damaged, Pujari added.
