OVER 100 INJURED DURING DIWALI CELEBRATIONS ACROSS ODISHA
Bhubaneswar(13/11/2023): More than 100 people were injured during Diwali celebrations in different parts of Odisha on Sunday evening. In Bhubaneswar, Diwali related mishaps took place at Baramunda, Samantarapur, Tankapani Road, Balipatna and other places.
More than 100 people were admitted to Capital Hospital for treatment with burn injuries. In Balasore, more than ten people sustained critical injuries while bursting firecrackers in Soro.
Similar incidents were reported from Bhadrak district's Sugo, Jahangir, Kedarpur and Saramara areas in Bhadrak district where five children sustained critical burn injuries while bursting firecrackers.
Another person lost his finger while bursting firecrackers at Gunthunia in Charampa area under town police station in the district. Another mishap occurred at Thengia Sahi under Dhenkanal Sadar block where a house caught fire after firecrackers fell on it. Fire broke out in a flat at Khetrajpur in Sambalpur district in firecrackers blast late last night.
Three fire tenders were used to douse the flames.
