WEBINAR ON ORGANIC HAAT ORGANISED BY NCNF ODISHA
Bhubaneswar(29/03/2024): A webinar on promotion of organic/ naturally produced products through organic haat corners was organised by the National Coalition for Natural Farming-Odisha chapter on virtual mode.
Arunima Swain from NIRMAN moderated the webinar and spoke about the importance of the said webinar.
Nirmal joined as chief speaker and elaborately discussed the need of sustainable agriculture or natural farming.
He discussed about the organic haat protocol which is developed by FES.
He mentioned, from Gram Panchayats to women SHG federations and from local farmers to media persons, there is huge support for organic haat initiatives.
Consumers are now sensitised, they value organic products and our agenda is to promote local products in local markets.
The farmers themselves should eat safe food which is produced by them, Nirmal remarked.
Siba Prasad Sahoo explained about his experiences from Ahinsa Club and discussed various challenges for the promotion of such organic haat.
N.K.Mahakud and Sushil Kumar Dash from SEWA mentioned the idea of promoting chemical free products through rural marts.
Ekadashi Nandi, discussed various certification processes used for natural/organic farming.
Maheswar Khillar has discussed various steps taken by Kitchen Gardener's Association for the promotion of organic products produced by city farmers.
All the members of NCNF-Odisha unanimously decided to initiate awareness campaigns pan-Odisha with the call "Bisha Ame Khaiba Nahi Ki Khuaiba Nahi" means, we will neither eat nor feed poisonous food.
NCNF Odisha has decided to create grassroots level awareness among people for safe food.
More farmers will be connected to adopt natural farming for the greater cause of health and environment.
Rural daily & weekly markets/ haat will be connected, Gram Panchayats, Women SHGs, govt officials and local media houses will be reached by the us for creating spaces for the marketing of rural organic products at local level, unanimously decided in the webinar.
Dolagobinda Panda from PRADAN has discussed the inclusion of natural farming in GPDP.
Participants from various CSOs and FPOs had actively participated from various corners of Odisha.
Dr.Sabarmatee, Padmashree Awardee & Secretary of Sambhav has given her full solidarity to such initiatives & the call for poison free food shall reach every household, said Dr.Imran and placed a vote of thanks.
