XIM University holds Sampravah: A Policy Talk on Inclusive Governance in a Fragmented World: Power, Politics & Transformation
Bhubaneswar(26/02/2025): The School of Governance and Public Affairs (SGPA), XIM University, successfully hosted its flagship event, Sampravah 2025, on February 26, 2025.
The event, themed “Inclusive Governance in a Fragmented World: Power, Politics, and Transformation,” brought together experts, faculty, and students to discuss pressing governance challenges and explore transformative solutions. The event commenced with an eloquent introduction by the emcee, Taasha Mishra, setting the stage for an enriching academic discourse.
This was followed by an insightful address by Professor Nisikant Nayak, Faculty, SGPA, XIM University, who provided an overview of the school's vision, activities, and academic programs.
He further laid a strong conceptual foundation by offering a nuanced perspective on governance and public policy. Building upon this introduction, Professor Tathagata Chatterji from the School of Human Settlements, XIM University, contextualized the broader themes of the event, setting the intellectual tone for the deliberations that followed. The first keynote session featured Shri Jagadananda, Mentor and Co-Founder of CYSD, Odisha, who provided a critical analysis of governance challenges and reform imperatives in India.
The session, moderated by Professor Chatterji, was both thought-provoking and interactive, as the audience engaged in a dynamic Q&A session that fostered meaningful dialogue. Following a brief tea break, the audience was captivated by a spellbinding classical dance performance by Piyali and Muskan, adding a cultural dimension to the academic proceedings. The second keynote session brought forth diverse perspectives on governance and technological transformation.
Charudutta Panigrahi delivered an engaging discussion on the intersection of policy and technological innovation, while S.C.Barmma, Retired Additional Secretary and Consultant at the Universal Postal Union, UN, offered a global perspective on governance reforms.
Once again, Professor Chatterji adeptly moderated the session, facilitating a rich exchange of ideas. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where Professors Nisikant Nayak, Tathagata Chatterji, and Sipra Ram honoured the distinguished speakers for their invaluable contributions.
This was followed by a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof.Sipra Ram, who expressed deep gratitude to the esteemed guests, speakers, faculty, and students for making Sampravah 2025 a resounding success. With its insightful discussions and collaborative engagements, Sampravah 2025 reaffirmed SGPA’s commitment to fostering intellectual discourse and policy innovation, solidifying its role as a platform for shaping inclusive governance strategies in an ever-evolving world.
