Mahadeepa placed atop Lingaraj Temple

Bhubaneswar (26/02/2025): On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the Mahadeepa at Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar was raised at 10:40 PM, 40 minutes later than the scheduled time of 10:00 PM.

This significant event is part of the Maha Shivaratri celebrations, which attracted a massive crowd of devotees.

Several rituals were performed throughout the day, including Mangala Alati, Sahana Mela darshan, and Sandhya Alati Unfortunately, during the raising of the Mahadeepa, one of the servitors fell while climbing the temple's Chudaa.
