Minister Rabi Naik directs officials to expedite water supply systems in Odisha

Bhubaneswar (09/03/2025): Odisha Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Naik has directed officials to expedite water supply systems in Odisha, particularly in rural areas, during the summer season.

The goal is to make non-functional tube wells operational and provide safe drinking water to the population. The Minister asked the officials to take steps for drilling new tube wells in 71 habitations to provide clean drinking water, implementing the Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Water Supply to Habitations (Basudha) scheme, a mega pipe water scheme, to supply portable piped water to all households and activating solar projects under the Basudha scheme to ensure sustainable water supply. He also directed them to conduct regular testing and monitoring to ensure water quality standards are met.
