34TH PECUC SISUMELA TO KICK START IN BHUBANESWAR FROM NOVEMBER 14
Bhubaneswar(16/10/2023): People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), a leading voluntary organisation of Odisha, is organising “Sisumela”- A special programme for children since 1990.
This year the 34th PECUC Sisumela will be organised from November 14 to 20 at Ekamrahat Amphitheatre.
Except elocution all other competitions will be organised at Ekamrahat Amphitheatre.
Details are to be found in the facebook page of PECUC “@PECUC” and at our website www.pecuc.org. On this occasion various competitions among children will also be held.
On 12th November Drawing Competition (Class 2nd to XII) at Ekamrahat at 8 am & Music Competition (Class 2nd to XII) at 11am; 15th at 4:30pm for under 3 year old children “baby of the year” competition (birth certificate and vaccination certificate mandatory) and 5:30 Rhymes Competition (Nursery to Class-I); Modern Dance Competition (Nursery to 4th Class) on 16th at 5pm; 18th at 5:00 PM Odissi Dance (Classes 2nd to 7th); And on 19th at 4:00 p.m., Fancy Dress (Nursery to 7th Class), will be held.
The contestants are divided into Sisu, Sub Junior, Junior, Senior and Super Senior groups on the basis of their class. This year, the elocution competition will be held online in both Odia and English.
The topics for 5th to 7th grade children are "Paribesha Surakhya Pain Chota Chota Karjyara Shakti" and "The power of small action to protect environment"; Class 8th to 10th on topic “Tamakhu Niyantrana: Eka Jibana Rakhyaka Mission” and “Tobacco Control: A Lifesaving Mission”; topic for Class 11th and 12th “Sustha Pidhi Pain Sthaniya Desi Khadya O Fast Food Madhyare Santulana Kariba" and “Balancing Slow and Fast Food for a Healthier Generation” Contestants should submit a 3-minute video of their speech to psisumela@gmail.com Or send to whatsApp number 7849010021.
They also should mention their name, class, school along with their mobile number in th video.
The last date for sending the video is 12th November.
We are also inviting bio data for PECUC’s different Annual Awards.
This bio data or CV should be sent to psisumela@gmail.com by 1st November.
The awards that will be awarded to the children below 18 years are “Prananatha Pattnaik Memorial Award” for social work, “Dr.P.C.Dash Memorial Sisu Pratibha Award” for all round achievement, “Baji Rout Memorial Award” for bravery and courageous activities, “Sharat Pujari Memorial Awards” to child Artist for acting, “Ketaki Pattnaik Memorial Award” for securing highest mark in 5th class scholarship examination, “Aadaramani Baral Memorial Award” to a girl for strong leadership and bringing change & “Sushama Mohapatra Memorial Awards” to a girl for the outstanding contribution in the field of sports.
In this occasion other awards that will be given are “Shishusathi Award” for outstanding contribution for children, “Swarup Jena Memorial Award” for outstanding contribution in the field of Journalism, “Abani Baral Memorial Award” for teacher, “Dr.P.C.Dash Memorial Sisu Adhikar Surakhya Award” for working towards child protection and development and “Aradhana Nanda Memorial Award” to Women PRI for her outstanding work as people’s representative.
