PECUC celebrates International Women's Day at Balianta
Balianta (11/03/2025): Women are symbol of power and creation is impossible without women.
Their power is best exhibited through their excellence and skills in various fields of society.
The active participation and leadership of women are very crucial for the development of society and building a beautiful future.
For this, it is necessary to pay special attention to the rights, equality and empowerment of women, said the eminent speakers who attended the Women’s day programme organized by leading voluntary organization People's Cultural Center (PECUC) and Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Unique at Balianta High School, Balianta in Khorda district.
Anuradha Mohanty, Executive Director, PECUC, welcomed the gathering and shared the purpose of this program.
On this day, everyone should celebrate the success of women and take the lead in promoting and leading women everywhere for a developed society and a bright future was said by her.
Later, the guests inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Dr.Minakshi Panda, chairperson, PECUC, also addressed the gathering.
On the occasion of Women's Day, Rotarian Divya Ranjan Dash, of Rotary Club Bhubaneswar Unique extended his heartfelt greetings to the women present and  emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, leadership, and equality, Rotarian Arya Panigrahi stating, "Every woman has the power to bring change—let us support and celebrate their strength every day." Rotarian Ranjita Senapati added, "When women rise, society prospers; let us stand together for a more inclusive and equitable world." Among others, Bhavani Kumari Mahapatra, Principal, Balianta High School, Dr.Tanmay Tripathi, MOIC, Community Health Centre, Balakati, Krishna Keshab Apata, Sarpanch, Balianta Panchayat, Santosh Kumar Sethi, PHEO, Community Health Centre, Balianta spoke on this occasion. On this occasion, eminent women personalities of Balianta block were felicitated for their outstanding contributions in various fields.
The honorees included Dr.Arpita Sethi (BDS), CHC, Balakati; Kaberi Majhi, Assistant Teacher, Shri Shri Patitapaban Government High School, Kakarudrapur; Shakuntala Parija, Anganwadi Worker, Jaganathpur; Kalpana Jena, ASHA Worker, Budhipada Village, Puranpradhan Panchayat; and Shraddheya Patra, Sarpanch, Prataprudrapur Panchayat. More than 100 women from Balianta block, including ASHA , Anganwadi workers, Women SHG Members and students, actively participated in the program.
Upama Mohanty, Block Coordinator, PECUC, delivered the vote of thanks, while Bishnupriya Mohapatra from PECUC provided support in organizing the event .
