International Women's Day celebrated at Nischintakoili

Cuttack (11/03/2025): Women are the foundation of all strength, possessing an immense and unparalleled power within them.
Their contributions to society are invaluable, and their ability to lead, inspire, and overcome challenges has been evident throughout history.
Across various fields, women have demonstrated remarkable skills, intelligence, and resilience, proving that their participation is not just essential but transformative in shaping a progressive and equitable society. Women’s leadership and active involvement are instrumental in driving positive change, ensuring a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
Recognizing this, Women's Day stands as a tribute to their rights, equality, and empowerment—a day to celebrate their achievements and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a world where every woman can thrive, lead, and pursue her aspirations with confidence. To honour this occasion, Radio Sampark, in collaboration with People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC) and SMART, organized a series of vibrant and engaging programs in Nishchintkoili block of Cuttack district.
The members of the Nari Shakti Women's Group, as part of the "Hinsa Ku Na" program, led numerous activities across different locations, including Maligaon, Nemalo, the Anganwadi Centre, and Pithapada Minor School. The celebrations included a range of exciting and meaningful activities: Conch-blowing and Hulhuli competitions, highlighting cultural heritage and women's participation in traditional art forms.
Poetry recitation competitions, where women and girls shared their thoughts, experiences, and aspirations through powerful verses.
A rally to spread messages on women's rights, gender equality, and social empowerment.
Local games that encouraged participation, teamwork, and physical well-being.A cycle rally by adolescent girls from the Anganwadi Centre, symbolizing mobility, freedom, and empowerment.
A narrowcast on child marriage at Pithapada Minor School, educating the community on the importance of ending early and forced marriages. A dedicated Women's Day program on Radio Sampark, featuring success stories of Nari Shakti Women’s Group members, celebrating their achievements and inspiring others. On this occasion, several esteemed speakers emphasized the importance of women's empowerment and collective action:Sasmita Mahanty, Sarpanch of Nemalo Panchayat, highlighted the necessity of respect for women, urging them to stand up and fight for their dignity and rights.
She stated, "All women deserve respect, and they should stand up and fight for it." Sunita Palei, a dedicated member of the Nari Shakti Women’s Group, emphasized the significance of unity, remarking, "Women should empower themselves and support one another so they can face any situation fearlessly." The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 500 women, reflecting the strong collective spirit of the community.This impactful program was successfully organized by Shushree Shailani Suman, Director of Radio Sampark, alongside Subhalakshmi Panda, Jagatmohini Dash, Gayatri Tripathy, and Bhavani Shankar Patra from Radio Sampark.
Their efforts ensured that the event was not just a celebration but a powerful platform for raising awareness, fostering solidarity, and driving meaningful change in society. Through such initiatives, Women’s Day becomes not just a day of celebration but a call to action—a reminder of the work still needed to achieve gender equality, justice, and empowerment for all women.
