AI cameras help arrest three poachers in Similipal

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The forest officials arrested three poachers from Similipal Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused, identified as Lachhu Murmu (48), Madhusudan Murmu (38) and Ghasiram Tudu (35), were nabbed with advanced weapons, including three Single Barrel Breech Loading guns and 17 cartridges, five of which were live.
The movement of poachers were tracked down with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Trailguard cameras installed inside the sanctuary. The photographs of the three were captured in the cameras. 
The accused were habitual offenders who hunt wild animals in the sanctuary.
An FIR has been lodged against them for violating the Arms Act, 1959. 
The trio was forwarded to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Baripada. Later, the accused persons were sent to judicial custody following rejection of their bail.
