CENTROXY BHUBANESWAR CITY MARATHON POWDERED BY KALINGA RUNNERS “RUN FOR YOUR LIFE”
Bhubaneswar(11/02/2024): Kalinga Runners Trust (Regd) today organised its annual running, marathon event CENTROXY BHUBANESWAR CITY MARATHON.
The 6th edition of the CENTROXY BHUBANESWAR CITY MARATHON.
started from Shikhar Chandi temple gate.
Dr Sarthak Pattnaik, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dukhshyam Padhi, President Kalinga Runners flagged off the Marathon in presence of Swati Mohanty, Vice President Kalinga Runners, Sangram Keshari Jena, Secretary of Kalinga Runners, Jajati Badu, Founder CEO, Centroxy, Deepak Kumar Mishra, Race director, Kalinga Runners, Anil Mohapatra, Race Convenor, Kalinga Runners.
Speaking on this occasion Dukhshyam Padhi, President Kalinga Runners said, Kalinga runners is a registered trust and believes in One run can change your day , Many runs can change your life, We are Kalinga Runners, a sports club in Odisha working for uplifting and supporting current and upcoming fitness enthusiasts.
We aim to play a role in shaping great athletes be it through Running, Cycling, or Fitness Exercises.
You will be pleased to know that we have many IronMan (Triathlon) athletes on our team and prolific runners who have made Odisha proud in many national events.
This year we are happy to have Centroxy (Building Better Technologies) a software firm based at Bhubaneswar as our sponsor for the 4th year consecutively. More than 600 participants from all walks of life across India will gather to embark on their respective running journeys.
Speaking about his association with Centroxy Bhubaneswar City Marathon, Jajati Badu, Founder CEO, Centroxy, said, "I am proud to be associated with Kalinga Runners in organising Centroxy Bhubaneswar City Marathon.
Since last 4 years I am associated with Kalinga Runners.
I started running after Covid time and subsequently connected with Kalinga Runners.
Today’s marathon witnessed the participation of 80-year-old woman running 10 kms from a very distant village of Odisha and Kalinga Runners Saree Run Babita ran wearing Sambalpuri Saree, who recently completed 42 kms marathon at Mumbai wearing the pride of Odisha Sambalpuri Saree.
Differently abled participants, and amateur runner also joined the run." The event had three run categories Half Marathon 21km, 10km and 5km, with cash prizes and trophies for both men and women awarding top three position finishers.
Along with this some other categories were also awarded.
Race Director Deepak Kumar Mishra said, Running is one of the proven sports to have built that mental strength and strive to achieve the greatest in life.
All the participants got sportive T- shirt, finisher medal, hot breakfast, run- route hydration, medical supports and ither support, e- certificate and a memorable running experience.
This year it was a timed event like a National standard marathon. In 21 km race first position in male category is Pankaj Soren and in female winner is Sakro Besra In 10 km first position in male category is Suryakant Ray and in female Subhashree Sahoo The Marathon is held between Sikharchandi to Chandaka Road, Pathargadia .
