National Conference on Recent Trends of Research in Mathematical Sciences at FMU

Balasore, 1/6(Krushna Kumar Mohanty)The Postgraduate Department of Mathematics, Fakir Mohan University, successfully organized a two-day National Conference on Recent Trends of Research in Mathematical Sciences on 30–31 May 2025. The academic gathering drew enthusiastic participation from scholars, researchers, and students across the country.

The esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy, served as the Chief Patron of the event, inaugurated the event, while Prof. Bhaskar Behera was the Patron. The conference was convened by Prof. Gauranga Charan Samanta, Head of the Department of Mathematics, with Dr. Avaya Naik served as the Organizing Secretary.
The conference was graced by Prof. Biswaranjan Behera of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, who attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring inaugural address on the evolving frontiers of mathematical research. The event witnessed the presence of several eminent scholars, including: Prof. Dilip Kumar Maiti, Vidyasagar University, Prof. Bappaditya Bhowmik, IIT Kharagpur Prof. Sunil Kumar Prajapati, IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof. Subhabrata Paul, IIT Patna, Prof. Shibesh Kumar Jac Pacif, PICS Institute, Sambalpur, Prof. Nabin Kumar Sahu, DA-IICT, Gandhinagar, Prof. Sunil Kumar Tripathy, IGIT Sarang. Each of these distinguished academicians shared their expertise and delivered thought-provoking talks on cutting-edge topics in the mathematical sciences.
The conference saw active participation from 104 attendees, including researchers, academicians, and postgraduate students. A total of 23 participants presented research papers, contributing to a vibrant exchange of ideas and insights. In addition, 36 MSc students showcased their academic enthusiasm by presenting posters on diverse mathematical themes.
The event provided a dynamic platform for fostering collaboration, sharing recent advancements, and inspiring young minds to engage in meaningful research. The department’s initiative was widely appreciated for its academic rigor and seamless organization.
