The election is scheduled to take place on December 20, following the resignation of Sujit Kumar. Nomination start date is December 3. The last date of nomination is December 10. The last date for withdrawal of is December 13. Counting of votes will be held on December 20 This by-election is being held to fill the vacant seat in the Rajya Sabha .
