Odisha Health Minister unveils State Action Plan on One Health & Annual Report of IDSP-IHIP
Bhubaneswar(11/02/2025): In a significant step towards strengthening the public health in Odisha, the Health & Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling released the State Action Plan on One Health and the Annual Report of IDSP-IHIP-2024 on Tuesday here in the conference hall of the Health & Family Welfare Department, Loksabha Bhawan. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed with the Government of India to establish a Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) also got released there.
This crucial initiative aims at enhanced preparedness and response capabilities to public health emergencies in the State. The State Action Plan on One Health outlines strategies to promote an integrated approach to human health, animal health, and environmental health.
It focuses on Strengthening surveillance and response systems for zoonotic diseases, promoting responsible use of antimicrobials in both human and animal health, enhancing intersectoral collaboration among health, agriculture, and environment sectors, and raising awareness about One Health principles among the public. The Annual Report IDSP-IHIP-2024 provides a comprehensive overview of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) and the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) in Odisha during the year.
It highlights key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Notably, Odisha secured the first position in the IHIP performance for the year 2024.
Health & FW Minister appreciated the health administration of all 30 districts for their seamless effort and hard work.
