Odisha Higher Education institutions to remain open on March 5

Bhubaneswar (04/03/2025): All the higher education institutions in Odisha shall remain open on March 5.

According to a notification issued by the Higher Education department, the holiday declared on March 5 stands cancelled.

The circular issued was issued to the Registrars and PG Council Chairmen of Public Universities, Principals of government and non-government colleges and Principals of government teacher education institutions of the state, coming under the department, for their information and necessary action. The School and Mass Education department has issued a notification directing all schools to remain open on Wednesday after the state government delinked Biju Patnaik birth anniversary from Panchayati Raj Divas and declared that March 5 will not be observed as a holiday. The Panchayati Raj Divas will be observed on April 24.
