Pradakshina organized 5th Annual Festival 2024
Bhubaneswar (14/08/2024) : Pradakshina, a leading Odissi dance organisation of Bhubaneswar organized 5th Annual Festival 2024 (the spirit of Odissi Dance) at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The festival was started with lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests Pandit Nityananda Misra, Sanskrit Scholar and Writer; Niranjan Rout, Noted Odissi Dance Guru, Prativa Panda, Eminent Odissi Dancer & Actress; Guru Ratikant Mohapatra, Advisor, Trustee and mentor of Pradakshina and Anshuman Mishra, Director, Pradakshina.
The first Odissi presentation in the evening was Ganesh Vandana set to Raga-Mishra Shudha Bibhas and Tala-Aadi tala presented by Adyashree, Krutiprava, Mausumi, Jyotika, Idhika, Adarshini and Sai Swikruti followed by Matangi Dhyanam based on praise to the tantric Goddess Matangi performed by Shrabani, Ipsita, Ashlesa, Soumyashree, Shatadee, Smruti Prajna, Abhinanda, Mahika, Mitali and Swayamprava.
Next item was Batu Nrutya set to Raag Mohana and Eka Taali presented by Aarohi, Twisha, Priyam, Tanwee, Shambhavi, Adyasha, Jaanvi, Anushka, Hamsika, Meerashree and Vaishnavi followed by Basant Pallavi set to Raag Basant and Taala Ekatali, performed by Madhumayee, Pratyasha, Joanna, Subhashree, Aradhya, Vaisnavi T Shankar, Harshita, Sai Aradhya, Anwita and Preyansi.
Next dance item was Odissi duet Bhavani Bhujangam set to Raga - Gundakriya & Tala - Eka Taali and Jati, presented by Santosh Ram and Samir Kumar Panigrahi.
The dance was choreographed by Guru Bichitrananda Swain.
Next the junior group of Pradakshina performed a short Abhinaya on the Jagannath Cult of Chandan Jatra Mani Bimane Gobinda performed by Aarohi, Twisha, Priyam, Tanwee, Sambhavi, Sai Swikruti, Idhika, Jyotika, Adyashree, Krutiprava and Mausumi.
The last presentation of the evening was Chandana Charchita Astapadi of Geeta Govinda by Poet Jayadev presented by Shrabani, Ipsita, Ashlesa, Soumyashree, Shatabdee, Smruti Peajna, Abhinanda, Mahika and Sailaxmi.
The dance items were choreographed by Guru Ratikanta Mohapatra.
The dancers of Pradakshina was marked by fluid grace, immaculate body movements with amazing precision and charming gestures and postures during the dance which was mesmerized the audience till the end.
The annual festival was coordinated by Anshuman Mishra, Director, Pradakshina, Lighting and Program Design made by Debiprasad Mishra and anchored by Dr.Mrutunjaya Rath.
