Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): The Khordha District and Sessions Court on Wednesday granted bail to BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan in the connection with the assault of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo.
The bail was granted to Pradhan on security of Rs 30,000.
Pradhan had earlier surrendered before at Bhubaneswar DCP office after he was taken into custody by the police.
He was subsequently produced before the SDJM Court in Bhubaneswar. He was then sent to a judicial custody after rejection of his bail application.
The hearing of the five accused in the case is scheduled to be held on July 15.
Ratnakar Sahoo was assaulted at the BMC office during a public hearing a week ago.
