‘Shree Jagannath Saurabh Sambhar’ Book released at  Jagannath Consciousness programme in Puri


Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): A book titled Shree Jagannath Saurabh Sambhar was released during the Shree Jagannath Consciousness and Culture Awakening programme organised by the Shree Jagannath Sanskruti Prachar Sansthan at Shree Jagannath Veda Karma Kanda Mahavidyalaya in Puri on Friday.

The programme began with prayers and tributes to Lord Jagannath with the message encouraging devotees to start their day by chanting “Jai Jagannath.” 

The event aimed at spreading the spiritual message and cultural heritage of Lord Jagannath among people in Odisha and across the world.

The event was organised under the guidance of advisor Purna Chandra Mohapatra, President Dr Narayan Mohapatra and Secretary Umanath Mishra, while Shashikant Rath coordinated the programme.

Several distinguished guests including Mahant Ramakrishna Das Maharaj, Biswanath Samantaray, Durga Prasad Das Mohapatra, Ramanarayan Pujapanda, Jameswar Khuntia, Bijay Das, Sarat Mohanty, Dr Banoj Ray, Harapriya Das, Sushil Pattnaik, Shatrughna Panigrahi, Rabinarayan Mohapatra and Bijay Mishra attended the event.

On the occasion, books on Jagannath culture were released in Odia and Hindi to promote awareness about the traditions, rituals and history of Lord Jagannath and the Jagannath Temple.

The book highlights various aspects including the history of the temple, inscriptions related to Lord Jagannath, the significance of Purushottam Kshetra, Mahaprasad traditions, Chhappan Bhog, temple festivals and daily rituals.

Cultural performances including devotional dance and bhajans dedicated to Lord Jagannath were also presented by young artist Ananya Samantaray and members of the Bhubaneswar Ladies Forum.

During the programme, individuals working for the preservation and promotion of Jagannath culture in different districts were honoured with the Shree Jagannath Sanskruti Rakshak Samman. 

The event concluded with cultural performances that were well received by the audience.
