President Droupadi Murmu to visit Odisha on January 10

New Delhi(24/12/2024): President Droupadi Murmu will visit Odisha on January 10 to attend the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) celebration.
This was announced by Urban Development Minister Krishan Chandra Mahapatra on Tuesday. The PBD celebration, which aims to connect with the Indian diaspora and promote people-to-people connectivity, will be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
More than 5,000 delegates from 140 countries are expected to participate in the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also attend the event. The PBD celebration is held every two years to connect with the Indian diaspora and promote people-to-people connectivity.
The event provides a platform for the Indian diaspora to engage with the government and people of India. This year's PBD celebration will focus on the theme "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal".
The event will feature a range of sessions and activities, including panel discussions, cultural performances, and exhibitions.
