RCDC, CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS MOURN ON THE DEATH OF KAILASH DASH
Bhubaneswar (03/01/2024): Kailash Chandra Dash, Executive Director of the Regional Centre for Development Cooperation (RCDC) and a well known development professional passed away on the 31st of December 2023 in Bhubaneswar.
He was well known for his exemplary work in the development sector including livelihood, tribal and forest rights.
He had worked in different national and international level organisations in different positions for social development.
To mourn his loss, a condolence meeting was held in the Kalinga Vihar premises of RCDC in Bhubaneswar on the 2nd of January 2024 being chaired by Jagadananda, former state information commissioner of Odisha.
Eminent civil society leaders like Pradeep Mahapatra, Dr Manoj Pattanaik, Dr Binodini Mishra, Sneha Mishra, Biswa Mohan, Asim Mahapatra, Shyam Sundar Barik, Aruna Prasad Dihudi, Rajendra Meher, Prabodh Mohanty, Amar Kumar Gouda, Susanta Pattnaik and others paid floral tributes to him and reminisced about his selfless service to social development sector.
Gouri Sankar Mishra, the Executive Director of RCDC, and Suresh Bisoyi, the Director Field Operations reflected on the loss and appealed to the civil society to take his ideals forward.
Jagadananda proposed that a Fellowship be arranged in his name to support selfless contributors to the sector.
Amongst others, Ramakrishna Maharana, Jagannath Chatterjee, Bijan Dalai, Rabinarayan Tripathy, Gayatri Harichandan, and others were also present on the occasion.
