Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): The southwest monsoon has set in over Kerala, arriving 8 days earlier than its usual onset date of June 1. This early arrival is attributed to favourable climate conditions.
Meanwhile, several places in Odisha received pre-mosoon showers.
The southwest monsoon is predicted to arrive in Odisha within the next 10 days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts the monsoon to advance into more parts of the country.
A normal monsoon is expected this time.
