Five police personnel suspended over dereliction of duty

Balasore (By Abhishek Mohanty): Five police personnel have been placed under suspension over dereliction of duty in Balasore. 

The decision comes in the wake of internal reports indicating negligence in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

The suspended officers- one havildar and four constables-were assigned to duty at the official residence of the Balasore district collector.
They were entrusted with maintaining law and order, ensuring security of the premises and supporting administrative functions.

It was found from a departmental review that  the officers had failed to uphold the standards expected of them, displaying a lack of seriousness and diligence in the roles assigned to them. Sources said that the suspended police personnel had neglected their duties by attending a birthday celebration of their colleague three days back. They were allegedly indulged in some illegal activities.
