Southwest monsoon reaches Odisha

The southwest monsoon has reached Odisha on Wednesday. 

The monsoon advanced into some parts of southern Odisha.

Favorable weather conditions have paved way for the monsoon to enter the state ahead of schedule. 

The monsoon had touched Kerala on May 24 and is progressing rapidly this year. 

The early arrival of the monsoon is expected to bring relief from the hot and humid weather conditions across the state. 

The India Meteorological Department has predicted above normal rainfall this season.
