Rural Management Conclave Abhivyakti stresses on empowering rural future in India

Bhubaneswar (27/09/2024): The School of Rural Management, XIM University (New Campus), Odisha in association with RMAX, the Rural Managers’ association of XIM University, successfully organized Abhivyakti on the topic “Empowering Rural Futures: Innovation and Growth Beyond Boundaries”. At the event's opening, Professor T.Kumar delivered a powerful speech, beginning with the profound statement: "Man's dearest possession is life.

It is given only once, and it should not be lived with the burden of regrets for wasted years or the shame of a petty past.

Instead, we must live so that, at the end, we can say we dedicated all our strength to the greatest cause — the fight for human liberation.” He emphasized how this message aligns closely with the core values of the Rural Managers' Association of XIM University (RMAX).

Professor Kumar highlighted that RMAX’s motto, "aRMed with empathy," mirrors the same spirit of selfless service and dedication towards uplifting society, reinforcing the association’s mission to empower and inspire. The theme of the two-day rural management conclave was "Empowering Rural Futures: Innovation and Growth Beyond Boundaries. The speakers were Akash Jain (Vice President & Head- Distribution Protean eGov Technologies Ltd.), Rajiv Srinivas (Chief of staff and India & Middle East Sales Leader HTCD), Karun Dube (Founding Member & Head of Business Intercell), Farheen Naaz (Co-Founder and CEO WeTheChange India). Session One featured two speakers: Akash Jain and Rajiv Srinivas.

Akash Jain delivered an insightful presentation on several key topics shaping rural India.

He explored the evolving rural landscape, highlighting the rapid technological advancements and innovative practices taking root in these areas.

Jain also delved into the policy frameworks designed to support rural development, addressing critical issues such as the education gap, healthcare challenges, and the economic disparities between rural and urban India.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of innovative agricultural practices in driving sustainable growth in rural communities. Rajiv Srinivas focused on the transformative role of AI in shaping the future of rural India.

He discussed the immense potential of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, along with villages, as key growth centers in the digital era.

Srinivas also addressed the growing concerns around cybersecurity in this age of information, particularly in rural contexts.

He highlighted AI’s significant influence in improving healthcare access and driving financial inclusion, positioning it as a catalyst for sustainable rural development. Session Two featured two insightful speakers, Karan Dube and Farheen Naaz.

Karan Dube discussed the impact of digital literacy on enhancing rural marketing effectiveness, emphasizing how it increases reach and engagement while empowering customers through information.

He highlighted the growth of e-commerce and the role of cost-effective digital marketing in supporting local businesses. Farheen Naaz focused on the importance of education around menstruation, promoting the use of sustainable sanitary pads.

She addressed the challenges in adopting sanitary products in remote areas and advocated for tailored solutions that cater to specific communities.

Naaz stressed the need for projects that are sustainable, viable, and inclusive for long-term

 success.
