'Odia Bhasha Vikasha Andolana' Launches 'Language Fortnight' Program

Balasore, 28/4: (Krushna Kumar Mohanty) The 'Language Fortnight' program, organized by the 'Odia Bhasha Vikasha Andolana' (OBBA) was inaugurated recently at the 'Srashta' Office in Makalpur. The event marks the beginning of a fifteen-day celebration aimed at promoting the Odia language.

The president of the event, Dr. Choudhury Satyabrata Nanda, emphasized the goal of the movement to promote and develop the Odia language through education, culture, communication, information, and science. He gave various examples to highlight the importance of language. Dr. Prahlad Charan Mohanty, who inaugurated the event, expressed that if the entire nation honors the Odia language, it could become the best language in India. Story writer Nibarana Jena provided information about various programs organized by the movement in the past and assured that the movement would become even more dynamic in the coming days.

The renowned actor and dramatist Hemendra Mahapatra applauded the efforts of the movement, stating that such programs for the development of language were crucial for the growth of literature. General Editor Dr. Laxmikant Tripathy provided detailed information on the language fortnight activities. Joint Secretary Jumranath Patra invited the guests to the stage, and the other joint secretary Shantilata Panda, offered the vote of thanks.
