TEACHERS’ CONFERENCE ORGANISED BY EIRC OF ICSI
Kolkata (23/09/2023): The ICSI is observing Teachers’ Week in the month September, 2023 and as part of the Teachers’ Week a Teachers’ Conference on “Empowering Educators” was organised by the EIRC of the ICSI on 22nd September 2023 at AJC Bose College, Kolkata. While delivering the inaugural address as the Chief Guest of the inaugural session, Prof.Dhruba Ranjana Dandapat, Professor & Former Head, Department of Commerce, Former Dean, Faculty Council for PG Studies in Commerce, Social Welfare and Business Management, Chairman, UGBOS in Commerce, University of Kolkata said that Teachers are necessary for the society and has a greater responsibility to create human beings.
Integrity, high ethical standards to be inculcated in a teacher to left mark in the students.
A teacher should appreciate the students and he demonstrate as a leader in teaching and encourage the students to work in team and do his/her best for the society, he added.
Guest of Honour, Dr.Purna Chandra Maity, President, All Bengal Principal’s Council & Principal, A J C Bose College, Kolkata in his address emphasised that that students expect a lot from the teachers and Teachers should come forward to help the students.
The teacher shall command respect not demand.
Also emphasised that the offline education will remain though online education is the today’s need.
Prof.Dilip Shah, Rector, the Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata, Guest of Honour talked about the Gurusishya Parampara and said that a Teacher should be a role model for the students.
In the technical sessions of the Conference Session, while Amar Agarwala, Practicing CA talked about Life Style and Stress Management, Dr.Tanupa Chakraborty, Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Kolkata talked about An Overview on Green Finance & Accounting in Managing Climate Risk.
Other dignitaries addressed during the conference CS Sandip Kumar Kejriwal, CS Rupanjana De, Central Council Member, the ICSI, CS Soumya Sujit Mishra, Chairman, and CS Anuj Sarawat, Secretary, EIRC of the ICSI also spoke about the Role of Company Secretary, Companies Act and about the ICSI on the occasion.
CS (Dr.) Mohit Shaw, Vice Chairman, EIRC of the ICSI was also present in the programme A large number of teachers and Professors from different colleges / Universities and educational institutions of West Bengal attended the conference.
All were felicitated with certificates and mementos.
The programme was appreciated by the teachers/Professors .
