Tiger scare ends as wild cat found near Bhubaneswar airport
Bhubaneswar (27/10/2024): The tiger scare at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar ended on Sunday morning after the forest department personnel found a wild cat near the airport dump yard.
It was earlier suspected that a leopard was present in the area. Initially, two women who were working at the site reported seeing a leopard prowling the area. A team of the forest department started an operation to trace the animal.
After continues patrolling in the night, the team spotted the presence of a wild cat. A cage with chicken bait was set up and four trap cameras positioned in strategic locations to capture any wildlife movement.
However, no signs of animals were found. During their search, officials came across pugmarks similar to those of jackals on Saturday.
However, the tracks were blurred by rain.
