Balasore, 23/6 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty) A three-day Orientation Program for newly enrolled students (academic year 2025–26, February 2025 batch) was organised from June 20 to 22 by the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Fakir Mohan University.
The program aimed to familiarize students with the university's academic system, educational resources, evaluation methods, and various services provided in distance learning mode.
Held at the university’s Nuapadhi campus, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various disciplines, coming from different parts of Odisha.
The inaugural session, held on June 20, was graced by Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Vice-Chancellor of the university, who addressed the students as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of discipline, digital education, and self-motivation. He also highlighted the university's commitment to providing quality higher education through its robust and student-friendly facilities.
On the occasion, Registrar Kumumina Das and Chairman of the Postgraduate Council, Prof. Bhaskar Behera, also addressed and congratulated the students.
Prof. Munesh Chandra Adhikari, Director of CDOE, along with Deputy Registrar Dr. Debadatta Das, gave a detailed presentation on CDOE's academic operations, digital library, virtual classes, and assessment system.
Faculty coordinators from various departments interacted with the students over the three days, responding to their queries and offering guidance on academic planning and personal development.
The program concluded with a special Valedictory Session, presided over by Dr. Choudhury Satyabrata Nanda, former President of the University Students’ Council. In his motivational address, he encouraged the 190 participating students to stay focused and dedicated to their studies.
An interactive session was held in the presence of the Director of CDOE, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Registrar Shri Abhay Kumar Nayak, during which the students expressed heartfelt gratitude for the orientation. The event reflected the university’s strong commitment to student-centric education and excellence in distance learning.
