XIM UNIVERSITY'S SCHOOL OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT HOLDS HR SYMPOSIUM
Bhubaneswar (26/08/2023): The School of Human Resource Management, XIM University (New Campus), Odisha in association with XIMAR, the functional committee of the School of Human Resource Management, successfully organized the HR Symposium on the topic “The Digital HR: What Lies Ahead?” on Saturday.
The event commenced with a welcome note by Prof.Andrew Dutta, Dean School of Human Resource Management, XIM University followed by an inaugural address by Fr.S.Antony Raj S.J., Registrar, XIM University.
The event began with a keynote address by Dilip Sinha which focused on the quintessential of future-ready organization in relation to human resource management practices.
This address built the base for the panel discussions with the statement “There is victory ahead of Digitization”.
Discussion was held on integration of digitization in human resources. The theme of discussion in Panel 1 was- Towards Evidence-Based People Practices.
Theme of Panel 2 was- The AI-Enabled Workforce of Tomorrow. The discussions in Panel 1 noted that empirical data serve as evidence for supporting intuitive decisions for HR as the workforce in modern organizational settings is becoming more diverse.
Data has been democratized which has increased transparency in the decision-making process.
On the other hand, Panel 2 deliberations revolved around the need for amalgamation of AI strengths in the form of its unbiases and quantitative ability with the upskilling of the workforce to prevent redundancy in performance.
The session concluded that evolution is considered to be the key to organizational change and the focus of hiring should be on the outcome and not on short-term talent management alone.
This was followed by a Question & Answer session for the students of both batches.
XIM University was honoured to host the Keynote Speaker Dilip Sinha, CHRO, Vedanta Ltd. Moderator of Panel-1 was Praja Saha, Founder & Publisher, HR Katha. Amitabh Akhauri, CHRO, Synergy Steels Ltd.joined as panelist and suggested that performance management system should be brought in organisations.
He said, "In our organisation, we brought in evidence based recruitment process because data is very important in organisational context.
Besides, we also did competence mapping." Another panellist Dharm Rakshit, Head HR, Hero Motocorp Ltd.and Biren Anshu, CHRO, Hi-Tech Robotic System Ltd.said, "As HR professionals, we should be equipped with emperical data and at the same time with indutive data." Similarly, Moderator of Panel-2 was Dr.Sunil Singh, CEO, Midstream. Consulting Panellists were Mehak M, Head HR-Transformation, Olam, Kaushal Parikh, Head HR, Bajai Consumer Care and Sanjeev Bhatia, CEO, Knowbility Ventures Pvt.Ltd.
