1M1B GREEN SKILLS ACADEMY SELECTS 5 YOUNG INNOVATORS FROM TELANGANA TO REPRESENT AT ACTIVATE IMPACT SUMMIT AT UN HEADQUARTER IN NEW YORK
Hyderabad(08/07/2024): The United Nations accredited, 1M1B (One Million for One Billion) announced the selection of five young innovators from Telangana’s 1M1B Green Skills Academy who will enter the global stage and attend the prestigious, 8th annual, 1M1B Activate Impact Summit at the United Nations Headquarters in New York this December.
The five young innovators winners were announced at the Grand Finale of the Green Skills Academy - Leveraging AI held at Hyderabad.
After 5 months of leadership training and problem-solving skills, the young innovators were chosen from a competitive pool of 200 finalists across from Telangana.
The 5 winners are Meeth Kumar Shah ( Age 22) for his Project- ApnAInterview CRACKER from Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology -Hyderabad , Narayanam Bhavya ( Age 20) for her project- Manifesting Manholes from Malla Reddy College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad, Manal Muneer (Age 21) for Intellnexa from Deeksha Degree College Nirmal, Pemmasani Likhitha Chowdary ( Age 18)- Tech Vasaliu from Malla Reddy College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad and Satyavathi Kolapalli (Age 19) for her project - Nurture Sapling from Malla Reddy College of Engineering for Women, Hyderabad. Earlier this year, the Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications Telangana, in collaboration with the 1M1B (One Million for One Billion), launched India’s first 1M1B Green Skills Academy.
This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of green skills among college youth in Telangana through the ecosystem partners, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK), T-Hub & T-Works.
The program is designed to bridge the existing skill gap among young adults aged 18–22, equipping them with theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in green skills, sustainability, and AI.
By leveraging the 1M1B Green Skills learning path, this Academy will not only empower young people with essential green skills but also forge vital linkages to green economy employment opportunities.
The partnership aims to train 1 million youth from Telangana by the year 2030 The Grand Finale, held at T-Hub, Madhapur, Hyderabad, India featured pitches and presentations from the shortlisted students showcasing their innovative solutions and ideas to accelerate the fulfillment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG’s) by the year 2030.
The Guest of honour at the event included IT Minister Sridhar Babu, Government of Telangana, Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary of Information Technology, Telangana Government; Rama Devi Lanka, Director Officer on Special Duty, Emerging Technologies, Government of Telangana, Vivek Abraham, Senior Director, Policy, Salesforce; Manav Subodh, Founder of 1M1B, Shrikant Sinha, CEO, Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK); Mahankali Srinivas Rao (MSR), CEO, T-Hub, Hyderabad and Joginder Tanikella, CEO, T-Works. The selected young innovators come from diverse backgrounds demonstrating how the United Nations SDGs can be localized creating indigenous solutions towards fulfillment of the UN SDG’s by the year 2030..
The 5 selected young innovators presented their solution ideas addressing the problems related to creating sustainable cities and villages, for example creating solutions for open manholes, youth unemployment, sustainable agricultural practices, quality education, protecting India’s rich culture, water problems and many more.

The youth from Telangana have worked hard in the few months and presented amazing projects.
We have shortlisted the top 5 students for now and will be selecting another set of 5 students in the next few months.
