Brown sugar worth Rs 40 lakh seized in Pipli

Pipili(21/12/2024): A major haul of brown sugar was seized in Pipili of Puri district of Odisha, valued at approximately Rs 40 lakh.

The contraband was being transported from Balasore to Pipili when it was intercepted. Three persons were arrested in connection with the seizure, and their vehicle was also impounded.

Two of the arrested individuals are reportedly from Rourkela, and the mobile squad of the Excise Department's Puri unit made the seizure.
