‘Harshe E’ Literary Festival Celebrated in Bhubaneswar: Senior Writers Grace the Stage, Uplift Young Poets

Balasore, 25 July 2025 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): An innovative literary event titled ‘Harshe E’ was held on Wednesday, 23 July, at Geetagovinda Sadan in Bhubaneswar, organized jointly by Debabrata Das and Abinash Sahoo under the banner of the literary forum Abika.
Renowned poet Mamata Dash inaugurated the event with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his welcome address, short story writer Debabrata Das introduced the purpose of the 'Harshe E' celebration and welcomed the guests and audience warmly.
The festival focused on six young poets—Srisikta Subhadrashini, Manisha Biswal, Aishwarya Rout, Mahadev Pradhan, Narayan Sahu, and Birendra Nayak—whose debut poetry collections were critically discussed by senior literary figures such as Senapati Pradyumna Keshari, Rakshak Nayak, Surya Mishra, Aparna Mohanty, Mamata Dash, and Subhashree Lenka.
Alongside, the poetic recitations by the young poets were followed by reflective commentary on the aesthetics of poetry performance by poets Saqti Mohanty, Debadatta Pati, Manua Das, Pravina Mohanty, Subhashree Subhsmita Mishra, and Pratiksha Jena.
A special moment of the evening featured poet Amiya Ranjan Mahapatra reciting a poem by the acclaimed poet Guru Mohanty, evoking a deep literary ambience.
The vibrant celebration witnessed the participation of senior, emerging, and young poets, writers, and literary enthusiasts who made the festival a memorable success.
The event was skillfully hosted by Bedaprakash Nayak, while Pranaya Sudha delivered the vote of thanks. The smooth coordination of the festival was made possible with the efforts of Satyajit Mishra, Arpita Nayak, Sampriti Pradhan, and Kalyani Mahapatra.
