Homeguard dies, four cops injured after ambulance crashes into police van

Udala(03/09/2024): A homeguard died while four police personnel, including an Inspector in Charge (IIC), sustained critical injuries after a 108 ambulance crashed into a police van near Petrol Pump Chhak at Udala in Mayurbhanj district late on Monday night. All the injured were rushed to the Baripada hospital. According to reports, the accident took place as the driver of the ambulance was using his mobile phone while driving the vehicle. The IIC and the driver of the police vehicle were later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment.
