Life’s Gamble
SANJAY BHATT
Life is not a game, yet I placed my bet,
A reckless player in a world unmet.
With every move, I bought profanity,
A heavy price for fragile vanity.
How can I speak the secrets of my heart?
To whom can I reveal this aching part?
No words will form, they choke and die,
In silence, I let my spirit cry.
So I drink deep, my tears, my blood,
A bitter elixir, a painful flood.
Alone I bear this heavy toll,
A silent storm within my soul.
Yet still, I stand, no winner's crown,
For life’s a gamble where all are bound.
With every breath, I place my bet,
In hopes that someday, I’ll forget.
