Odia Bhasa Pratisthan organizes Training Program on Usage of Odia Language in Government Work
Bhubaneswar (12/11/2024): A training program focused on the use of the Odia language in government functions, organized by the Odia Bhasa Pratisthan, commenced today in the conference hall of Sanskruti Bhavan.
This two-day program, scheduled for November 12 and 13, aims to equip government officials with the skills needed to effectively use Odia in their official work. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Subodh Acharya, Joint Director of the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture.
With more than 100 government officials in attendance, the session began with the unveiling of a training manual published by the Odia Bhasa Pratisthan. In his address, Acharya emphasized the importance of the Odia language in preserving cultural identity.
He highlighted its role in strengthening Odia heritage and extended gratitude to intellectuals and literary contributors for their dedication to Odisha’s development. He further encouraged all officials to participate attentively and consistently strive to elevate the use of Odia in their official work. Dr.Fanindra Bhushan Nanda from the Odia Bhasa Pratisthan provided an overview of the training program.
He mentioned that participants would receive certificates from the Odia Bhasa Pratisthan on the concluding day. The training covers various topics, including the use of Odia vocabulary in official work, administrative terminology, drafting orders, memos and notes in Odia.
On the first day, distinguished linguists Dr.Kailash Chandra Tikayat and Dr.Ramesh Chandra Mallik led the sessions.
Tomorrow’s schedule includes sessions from experts in Odia language and literature, along with contributions from the Odia Virtual Academy. This initiative to promote the effective use of Odia in official communication has been widely welcomed as a constructive step forward.
