Odisha CM Mohan Majhi presents 2025-26 State Budget
Bhubaneswar (17/02/2025) : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi presented the 2025-26 State Budget of Rs 2,90,000 crore in the Assembly on Monday. Rs 2020 crore budget allocation has been proposed for the CM KISAN Yojana. An amount of Rs 600 crore has been allocated for the Shree Anna Abhiyan for promotion of millets. The Chief Minister announced an allocation of Rs 252 crore for cold storage units for a period starting FY 2025-26 till FY 2029-30.
An amount of Rs 850 crore has been proposed in the budget for renovation of Hirakud Dam. To boost milk production and improve livelihood of farmers under the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana, an amount of Rs 164 crore has been proposed. Similarly, more than Rs 13,000 crore has been proposed for Bhubaneswar under the City Road Decongestion Yojana.
The plan includes Bhubaneswar outer ring road. Besides, Rs 144 crore has been proposed in the budget for subsidy in shape of financial assistance against VAT/GST reimbursement in large sector. An outlay of Rs 3470 under the Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana has also been proposed in the budget. This apart, Rs 4500 crore has been proposed to construct five lakh houses under the PMAY (Gramin). An amount of Rs 120 crore has been proposed under the Kendupatra Tolali Kalyan Yojana for the welfare of Kendu leaf pluckers. The highest outlay of Rs 31,185.47 crore has been proposed for School and Mass Education department. For Fisheries and Animal Resources Development department, an outlay of Rs 1,909 crore has been proposed. The allocation of Water Resources department has been enhanced from Rs 13,272 crore in 2024-25 to Rs 14,895 crore in 2025-26,up by about 12 percent.
