UTTARAKHAND PANCHAYAT REPRESENTATIVES' TEAM VISITS MODEL GRAM SABHA IN ODISHA
Bhubaneswar (10/02/2024): A thirty-five-member team of Uttarakhand's Haridwar Zila Panchayat visited the Model Gram Sabha in Odisha to get firsthand knowledge about the development and planning of the Gram sabhas.
Under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan 2024-25, in the leadership of Smt Nidhi Yadav, Director, Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Uttarakhand, visits and training programs are organized for the elected representatives where they learn about the development works being done in the model panchayats of different states of the country and implement them in their area.
The accompanying Nodal officer Aslam Ali told that "It was a five-day exposure visit cum residential training program of Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
Uttarakhand state is conducting exposure visits in various states including UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana Odisha etc." During the study tour, the elected Panchayat representatives will develop their competence by studying the Panchayati Raj Acts/Rules of the respective State, devolution of 29 subjects mentioned in the 11th Schedule of the Constitution to the Panchayats, activity mapping, thematic GPDP, water management, solid and liquid waste management, own revenue sources, taxation system, etc.
Also, they will get information about the best practices in the respective states, so that they can implement it in their panchayats in the future.
Zila Panchayat President, Haridwar, Uttarakhand Rajendra Singh said “This visit will help us in developing a better understanding of the people, Panchayat infrastructure and development works being undertaken here." He further added that such programs help in the cultural exchange between the two states. At first, all the members visited Raghurajpur Panchayat, which holds a special place in the cultural and artistic map of India.
There are 160 model houses in this area.
They are decorated with folk paintings.
Each house is decorated with a special kind of painting.
All the members were amazed to see such a beautiful painting.
A shopping complex has been built in the gram panchayat.
Amenities include a children's playground and a gym.
During this time the members also watched the folk dance Gotipua here and also encouraged everyone with loud applause.
Raghurajpur Panchayat is also famous for Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and Shilp Guru Dr.Jagannath Mohapatra.
Shilp Guru Dr.Jagannath Mohapatra is also credited with propagating Pat Art.
Visits Durgadaspur Gram Sabha Chief Vibhuti Bhuvan Nath warmly welcomed all the members and gave them a tour of the village.
He also showed the hi-tech panchayat building as well as the library.
The village chief also showed the haat market built near the panchayat house.
Later, they visited Dandav Mukundpur Gram Sabha, located five kilometers from there.
All the members visited the Panchayat Bhawan along with the Open Gym Center, Market Complex, and Modern Park prepared for children's play.
Puri Visit is incomplete without doing darshan and performing pooja at the temple of Lord Jagannath ji.
