PM Modi launches health initiatives worth Rs 12850 Cr nationwide
New Delhi (29/10/2024): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched development projects worth approximately Rs 12,850 crore across India.
Key among these initiatives was the virtual laying of the foundation stone for a Central Research Institute in Yoga and Naturopathy in Khordha, Odisha, marking the ninth Ayurveda Day and the birth anniversary of Dhanvantari, the Hindu deity associated with health. The Prime Minister extended the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to all citizens aged 70 and above at a dedicated event in Delhi. The major inaugurations included a Critical Care Block at Bargarh, Odisha and a Super Speciality Block in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur Government Medical College.
In Delhi, he also launched Phase II of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), featuring facilities such as a Panchakarma hospital, Ayurvedic drug manufacturing pharmacy, sports medicine unit, central library, IT startup incubation centre and a 500-seat auditorium.
