Young Writer Mahima Gantayat Receives ‘Bharat Kabiratna Award’

Balasore, 21/1 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): Mahima Gantayat, a student of Rayagada Women’s College, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Bharat Kabiratna Award’ by Delhi-based The Blue Star Publication.
In November 2025, The Blue Star Publication organised a nationwide competition to confer the Bharat Kabiratna Award on creative works across languages and genres. Mahima participated by submitting her English short story titled “The Real Victory.” For this work, she emerged as the winner of the award.

Alongside her academic pursuits, Mahima is deeply engaged in creative literature. Her writings have been widely published in various digital platforms and print media. She is the younger daughter of noted Odia poet and columnist Satyanarayan Gantayat, and the niece of late Odia writer Gantayat Shivaprasad and the late, well-known poetess of Rayagada Nirmala Gantayat.
Mahima has dedicated this achievement to her readers, well-wishers, teachers, and family members, whose constant encouragement has inspired her to nurture and express her creative voice.
