34TH PECUC SISUMELA INAUGURATED
Bhubaneswar(14/11/2023): Children should work hard for a better future, said eminent dignitaries present in the inaugural ceremony of 34th PECUC Sisumela (Children's festival) of People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), a leading voluntary organization of Odisha at Ekamarahaat Ampetheatre, Bhubaneswar.
The inaugural ceremony started with lighting of lamp by many eminent dignitaries and talented children of different fields.
There should be encouragement and inspiration in every spear to bring into forefront the inner talents of the children was said by them.
Joining the inaugural ceremony as chief guest Sulata Deo, MP, Rajyasabha said parents need to extend a hand of support instead of pressuring their children to fulfill their own hopes and dreams. Anant Narayan Jena, MLA, Bhubaneswar Central, addressed the children and encouraged them by saying that children should be given the opportunity to express their inner qualities.
Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das said that all children should strive to fulfill their dreams to become good citizens.
Among others Pritikanta Panda, Programme Maneger, OSCPS, Arya Panigrahi, President, Rotary Club of Unique, Bhubaneswar also spoke on this occasion. Pradosh Kumar Pattnaik, Senior Journalist and President of PECUC Sisumela Committee presided over the over the inaugural function and said PECUC is working since last 34 years to bring smile in the face of every children. Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Secretary PECUC gave the welcome address and shared the information about PECUC Sisumela.
Every child deserves a safe and happy childhood and it is the responsibility of all to create such environment, said Mohanty.
Minakhi Panda, Chairperson PECUC said parents should give time to their children and inspire them to continue their hard work for a better future.
Child artist Suhana Kar in her speech encouraged the children to work hard for a healthier world and also suggested them to dream for their future.
Kalpana Jena, Bronze Medal Winner at Berlin in Special Olympics for cycling and Ariditta Chakravorty, Silver medal winner in 400 mtr running race also spoke on the occassion Anuradha Mohanty, Executive Director of PECUC gave the vote of thanks and gave information about the children festival.
On this occasion, the winners of the drawing competition were given prize.
Colourful cultural programme was performed by children of Dasaabatara Natya Sala, Divya Jyoti Smruti Pitha cultural troupe, Lakshya Dance Group and Prakruti Adolescent Group of Kargil Slum.
Ratna Dash, Jyotishankar Mohanty, Alpana Dash, Priyadarshini Swain of PECUC facilitated the programme.
On 20th November, the Annual Awards giving ceremony of PECUC will be organised.
