33rd Annual Function of Range School Celebrated: “One Must Dream Big to Succeed in Life,” Says Chief Guest

Balasore, February 6 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The 33rd Annual Function of Range School, Chandipur, was celebrated today at the DRDO Auditorium premises with enthusiasm and dignity. PXE Director and Chairman of the School Management Committee, scientist Subodh Kumar Nayak, arrived at the auditorium at 10.30 a.m. and formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. School Chairman Dr Pramod Kumar Sa welcomed the Chief Guest and other invited dignitaries to the dais and presented a detailed report on the academic programmes, achievements, and the financial and budgetary statement of the school for the 2025–26 academic year.

In his address, scientist Subodh Kumar Nayak congratulated all teachers and staff members, as well as everyone directly or indirectly associated with the school, for its continued success. Expressing satisfaction over the board examination results of the 2024–25 academic year and the academic progress in 2025–26, he also appreciated the wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities organised for students. He emphasised that along with academic learning, students need motivation in multiple directions for holistic intellectual development, highlighting the crucial role of teachers and parents in this process.

Another chief guest and PXE scientist, Ratnakar Sathua Mahapatra, who is also the school coordinator, delivered an inspiring speech. He said it was a matter of pride that the students were studying on the sacred soil of Chandipur, a place once visited by India’s great scientist and former President Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. He advised students to acknowledge their mistakes and learn from them, stating that only by accepting one’s own shortcomings can a person reach the peak of success in life.

Another distinguished guest, PXE Chandipur scientist and school committee member Jayadev Ash, spoke about organising interactions, symposiums, and exposure visits for students in collaboration with scientists to broaden their learning experience.

School Treasurer and ITR officer Ranjan Kumar Barik highlighted the importance of organising such programmes for students’ intellectual growth and also spoke about the financial aspects involved in sustaining these initiatives.

This was followed by a series of colourful and engaging cultural performances presented by the students. At the end of the programme, the guests felicitated meritorious students who had excelled in various competitions held earlier.
Teachers Tanmay Kumar Nayak and Dr Pratap Keshari Hota, along with students Shreyas Das and Amrita Behera, actively assisted in stage management.
Among others present on the occasion were PXE and ITR officer Maheswar Jena, Chairperson of the Regimental Nursery School Rashmi Solanki, and officers from EMU, PMU, MES, Military Wing, Works Project PXE, Station Workshop, and various departments.

A large number of Range School teachers, including Chairman Dr Pramod Kumar Sahoo, Sushanta Runa, Bharati Maharana, Tanmay Kumar Nayak, Gitikrushna Das, Laxmipriya Rout, Nitya Niranjan Routray, Dr Pratap Keshari Hota, Shubhakar Mahanta, Trishna Panigrahi, Sandhyarani Mahapatra, Krishna Panigrahi, Monalisa Khuntia, Manisha Sahu, Rashmirekha Pattnaik, Subashish Rout, Sandhya Mahapatra, Purnendu Prakash Pati, Saraswati Sahu, Rabindra Panigrahi, Radhakanta Lenka, Himanshu Jena, Tufan Sahu, Bimal Bhuyan, and others were present and extended active cooperation in the smooth conduct of the programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by teacher Tanmay Kumar Nayak.
