Massive crowd surge at Shree Jagannath Temple on Dola Purnima; several devotees injured

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): A massive crowd of devotees thronged the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on the occasion of the sacred Dola Purnima festival on Tuesday, leading to a brief spell of chaos near the Dola Bedi.

According to reports, a situation of pushing and jostling broke out among devotees gathered near the ceremonial platform as Lord Jagannath was being escorted to the Dola Bedi.

Amid the rush, several devotees reportedly fell to the ground and sustained injuries.

Temple authorities and security personnel intervened to bring the situation under control
