The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Odisha's main opposition party, officially commenced its membership drive on Wednesday. The campaign was launched in tandem with the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, with party president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik leading the way by renewing his membership. The drive, aimed at expanding the party's base, will focus on recruiting new members, particularly students and women, through both online and offline platforms.

The inauguration of the membership drive was broadcasted virtually across all district headquarters, marking a statewide participation. In Sundargarh, the event was spearheaded by MLA Jogesh Kumar Singh at the local Sanskruti Bhavan.
