An evening in the name of Poet Dipti Das was held on the second day of ‘Bhasha Paksha’ and ‘Kutir Book Fair,’ organized by the Odia Bhasha Bikash Andolan.

Balasore, 24/02 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): The second day of ‘Bhasha Paksha’ and the ‘Kutir Book Fair,’ conducted by the Odia Bhasha Bikash Andolan(,OBBA), was observed as a Literary Evening dedicated to the renowned poet Dipti Das.

The evening was presided over by author and essayist Dr. Shirish Chandra Jena. In his address, he remarked that the magnetic power of Mrs. Das’s words stirs every listener deeply. He stated that the poet has ascended a higher plane of devotion, love, ecstasy, and surrender.

Dr. Ratnakar Singh, Secretary of the Fakir Mohan Sahitya Parishad, joined as a speaker. In his speech, he described poetry as the final refrain of modern man’s existential quest. He observed that if the essay is the harvest of the mind’s field, poetry is the pure yield of the heart’s soil. 

Poet Ranjan Mohanty, another speaker, commented that Mrs. Das’s expressions of love and affection are living chronicles of surrender and gratitude.

On this occasion, several poems written by Mrs. Das were recited by poet Srideb, Basanti Dey, Dr. Ramakanta Nayak, Krishna Pradhan, Padmalochan Pradhan, Pitambar Behera, and Dr. Sarangadhar Tripathy, among others. 

General Secretary Dr. Laxmikanta Tripathy delivered the introductory address, while Joint Secretary Jhumaranath Patra conducted the proceedings. The vote of thanks was offered by Shantilata Panda.

Among other distinguished attendees were Anjali Panda, Dr. Subas Chandra Patra, Dr. Chaudhury Satyabrata Nanda, Dr. Hemamala Dash, Pratima Panda, Kalyani Nanda, Pushpa Chakraborty, Urmila Nayak, Sarat Kumar Mahapatra, Madhusudan Majhi, Prabhakar Sahu, Trinath Nandi, and many other literary enthusiasts.
